As a researcher by trade and also someone working in the services industry, I deal with a lot of data and information. Day in and day out, I gather, extract and synthesize information and insights. Sounds like a pretty nice gig, huh?

Pretty soon, though, things are so intellectual and abstract that it seems like all of life is in my head. A lot of people in tech try to re-connect mind to body through yoga, meditation, retreats. That's all fine and dandy.

 But my first love is the world, is place and space. I want to experience what material is all about.

And so while my other blogs talk about other abstract things such as travel and culture, this will be a blog about my forays into working with, living and breathing things of the Earth - food, cloth, leaves, body, perhaps even manufacturing.

(I also thought about setting up an Instagram account for this, and maybe eventually I'll link one, but I like the thought of longform cohesively rambling thoughts.)
